Parental Substance Misuse Workshop

Who is it for?

All DSCP training endorses that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. As such, this course is relevant for practitioners and managers across the range of Adult and Children’s services and is for all practitioners who work with parents, carers, children and young people.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, participants will;

  • Be aware of the types and effects of different substances
  • Be aware of how this can affect parenting capacity
  • Understand the potential effects of living with a parent with a substance misuse issue
  • Have shared any tools and local resources available to support these families

A certificate of attendance will be auto-generated and received on completion of the evaluation form. Therefore it is vital that you complete this as this is the only method you will receive a certificate of attendance.

DSCP Training Charging Policy

DSCP maintain a charging policy and the aim of the policy is to manage the demand on the multi-agency training programme delivered to ensure it is fairly accessed. It is also a reflection of the resources required to deliver the partnerships multi-agency training programme and the cost associated with non-attendees.

Training is currently offered to agencies of the partnership including all Early Years Providers. Private and for-profit organisations who do not come into these categories, will be charged £30 per person per half day course.

Cancellation/No-Attendance Policy (The implementation of this is at the discretion of the DSCP)

If you need to change or cancel your booking it is vital that you email DSCPTraining@durham.gov.uk at the earliest opportunity so that this place can be offered to others and to avoid any charges that may be incurred.
