Durham LSCB recognises Neglect as a key priority area. Our Neglect Multi-Agency Strategy provides an overarching framework for the work of all partners in County Durham. The aim of this strategy is to ensure that early signs of neglect and hidden harm are identified so that supported intervention can be provided at the earliest opportunity, preventing needs escalating. It links to a suite of more detailed practice tools to enable practitioners to respond effectively to identified need.
This page provides links to a range strategies and toolkits to help partners to improve responses to early help and Neglect. Intervention can range from appropriate advice and support from a single agency, through to a coordinated, multi-agency response and intensive support, sometimes from specialist services.
