Neglect Basics and Toolkit Workshop

Practitioners working in both universal services and specialist services have a responsibility to identify the symptoms and triggers of neglect, to share that information and provide children with the help they need.  To be effective, practitioners need to continue to develop their knowledge and skills in this area.
Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018

Who is it for?

This is a Workshop which is suitable for all front-line practitioners who work with children, young people, and their families where Neglect may be an issue.

This workshop is intended to be an introduction to neglect and to Durham’s Neglect Toolkit. Further sessions will be delivered by subject specialists on a variety of subjects relating to neglect in the near future and these sessions will be recorded and made available through Me Learning which can be accessed at https://durhamcsb.melearning.university/course_centre

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Have knowledge of common areas of concern relating to child neglect
  • Be familiar with County Durham’s Neglect Toolkit and how it can be used in supporting children and families
  • Know where to go to for additional support (where appropriate)

A certificate of attendance will be auto-generated and received on completion of the evaluation form. Therefore it is vital that you complete this as this is the only method you will receive a certificate of attendance.
